Dayul Redd

Dayul Lee Redd, 74, of Hutchinson, passed away on December 9th, 2017, in Hutchinson. Dayul was born in Hutchinson, KS to Alvin Lorenzo and Ida May (Glover) Redd on June 12th, 1943. He graduated from Buhler High School, class of 1961. He married Janet Pearl (Taylor) on March 13, 1964, in Hutchinson, Ks. He graduated from Cornell University and worked for Dillon’s Central Bakery for 35 years. He served in the Navy and in his younger years enjoyed building and racing stock cars at Mohawk Speedway. Dayul enjoyed annual fishing/camping trips with friends and family at Tuttle Creek and Grand Lake, gambling, working in the yard, tinkering in his many shops, loved shopping (or ‘taking inventory’ as they joked), shooting off large fireworks, going to the Kansas State Fair and would always help friends and family in need if he was able. Dayul was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Dayul is preceded in death by his parents. Dayul is survived by: his wife Janet Pearl (Taylor) Redd; his sons Todd (Beth) and Troy (Tammy) Redd; his brothers Jerry (Diane) and William ‘Bill’ Redd; his sisters Mary Branson, Glenda Lighty (Paul) and Marlene Gordon; four grandchildren and many close friends and family.
